ALBA ROCA, violin                                                   #

She was born in Berga (Barcelona) and began studying violin in her city with Jesús Badia. Later in Barcelona she continued with Eva Graubin, Sergio Prieto and Corrado Bolsi.

She introduced into the baroque violin with Emilio Moreno and followed baroque interpretation courses in the Department of Ancient Music of the Conservatoire Superieur CNR de Paris. She received classes of specialists in ancient music like Barry Sargent, François Fernandez, Daniel Cuiller, Enrico Gatti, Jean Tubery and Patrick Cohen, among others.

At present she works with prestigious orchestras and international formations specialized in historical interpretation like: Le Concert des Nations, Les Arts Florissants, Le Concert Français, Gli Incogniti, Al Ayre Español, Orquestra Barroca Catalana, Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, El Concierto Español, Academia 1750, Concerto Soave, Le Café Zimmerman, La Fenice, etc.

She collaborates regularly with recognized specialists, such as Jordi Savall, William Christie, Eduardo López Banzo, Mónica Hugget, Pierre Hantaï, Amandine Beyer... and she records for Alia Vox, Arsis, Harmonia Mundi, Alpha, Mirare and Zig-Zag Territoires.

She is an integral part of Quartet Albada -who has recorded the Mozart-Lichtenthal’s Requiem-, and the ensembles Gli Incogniti and L’Assamblée des Honnestes Curieux, who has obtained the Diapason d’Or de l’année (2006) with their last CD, Rebel.

In the teaching field, is professor of violin at the Conservatori Isaac Albéniz de la Diputació de Girona. Since 2007 teaches baroque violin at the Aula de Música Antiga directed by the same school with students from different parts of Spain.

Since 2009 is co-artistic director of the Early Music Festival in Berga.

ISABEL FÈLIX, fortepiano / harpsichord        #

Born in Menorca, she studied piano at the Conservatori Superior Municipal de Música de Barcelona with Miquel Farré and chamber music at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu in Barcelona, obtaining an Honour’s distinction for both degrees. Parallely she graduated in Pharmacy at the Universitat de Barcelona.

She continued her musical specialization in piano and chamber music with Ferenc Rados at the University of Alcalá de Henares and piano with John Bingham in London. During that period she won several awards in piano and chamber music competitions.

She then focuses her interest on interpretation following historical criteria. She studied harpsichord with Albert Romaní and fortepiano with Neal Peres da Costa. Remarkable is the influence of Paul Badura-Skoda, with whom she studied piano and fortepiano in Paris and Vienna.

Her performing career develops as a soloist as well as being a member of chamber ensembles as a pianist, fortepianist and harpsichordist, such as Orquestra de Cambra Illa de Menorca, Ensemble Gaudí and duet with violinist Alba Roca.

She has also performed with Orquestra Simfònica de Balears, Camerata Sa Nostra, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, Budapest Chamber Orchestra and BCN 216, amongst many others; with conductors and soloists like Barry Sargent, Philippe Bender, Virginia Martínez, Ala Voronkova, Edmon Colomer, Andrew Watkinson and Friedemann Breuninger, Salvador Brotons...

She has recorded for Columna Música label the album “A l’ombra del piano” (2009), with three concerts for fortepiano and orchestra of Haydn, Mozart and Schubert, with the OCIM.

She teaches repertoire with piano and is also head of the string department at the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears.
